In case you hadn’t noticed, American tweens have a thing for the Jonas Brothers. Need proof of their devotion? This past weekend fans snatched up over 800,000 North American tickets.

Arena shows are now sold out in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Houston, Pittsburgh, Edmonton, New Orleans and Atlanta. Fans that didn’t snag tickets in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Vancouver lucked out because second dates in those cities were immediately added.

The dates are a part of “The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009″ which features Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas performing on stages across three continents. The tour is being presented by Burger King and produced by Live Nation.

“Ticket sales for this tour have been phenomenal,” Jason Garner, Chief Executive Officer of Global Music for Live Nation, said in a statement. “The band has already sold out arena dates in 13 major cities, including Madrid, London and Paris, and with additional dates going on sale in Mexico and South America and Europe in April, it’s clear to us that Jonas Brothers are a true global touring powerhouse.”

After a couple shows in the Bahamas, the tour kicks off at the Arena Monterrey in Mexico, May 17. The Jonas Brothers will tour Latin America for six shows, including stops in Peru, Chile, Brazil and Argentina.

Demi Lovato, star of the Disney Channel original movie “Camp Rock,” and the television series “Sonny With A Chance,” will open all Latin American shows.
Then in June it’s off to Europe for a few dates.

The North American leg of the tour kicks off at New Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, June 20 and concludes with a show at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, August 31.

American Idol winner and 19 Entertainment/Jive Records’ platinum-selling artist Jordin Sparks and rising stars Honor Society will be along for the fun as special guests.

The Jonas Brothers won’t have much time to chill because it’s back to Europe in October and November. Dates include shows in Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark and Belgium.

This weekend the guys revealed a sneak peek of their new 140-foot plus stage on the Jonas Brothers’ YouTube channel. The stage will be centered in the arena to allow fans to get up close and personal with the band. The show will feature a circular water screen, multi-color laser effects, motion automated video screens and a giant crane that levitates over the audience.

The Jonas Brothers’ newest album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, is set for release June 15.

JJJ caught up with all four Jonas Brothers at the 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday afternoon (March 28) at UCLA’s Pauley Pavillion.

On adding horns into the new album: “We’re adding horns. Today, we actually have the horn players on stage with us. It’s going really well, they’re amazing. Even on the album, it’s a different sound for us. A little more Neil Diamond-ish, Zutons, kind of meets Prince somewhere in there.”

On what we can expect from the upcoming tour: “The stage is round, just like the Britney [Spears] tour. We’re surrounded by fans everywhere and it’s really exciting for us. [We've] always wanted to do a show that’s kind of like a rodeo. I think they [the fans] can expect kind of the same Jonas Brothers things. Obviously some of the same songs, and cool stage things. We’re not giving away any hints except what the stage looks like. It could turn into a Transformer, you never know. We’re playing five or six songs from the new record, which is so exciting for us. We’ll be introducing some new sounds on the older songs to make it different.”

What to expect from Jonas Brothers’ upcoming world tour has been revealed through a video, which gives a closer look into their tour stage. “We’re so excited about our upcoming tour that we had to give you guys a sneak peak of our stage,” so a message posted on their YouTube in companion of the video.

Put forward in the form of an animated video, the sneak peek shows a huge two-floor stage set in a center of an indoor arena. Stretching to the right and left sides of the main stage, as seen also in the video, are two smaller stages.

Jonas Brothers will kick off their world tour on May 19 in Peru, Lima and will continue touring through November. Jordin Sparks and Honor Society have been booked as their supporting acts. Fans can visit Jonas Brothers’ MySpace to obtain more details on their upcoming shows.

Beside prepping to travel across the globe, the Jonas boys are also busy recording new music for their fourth studio album “Lines, Vines and Trying Times”. Recently, Nick Jonas commented on the album’s title, saying that “Lines are something that someone feeds you, vines are the things that get in the way, and trying times, well, that’s obvious.”

Wow, that title kinda sounds like FFE-ish. Anyways, I was brainstorming as I usually do when I’m bored and I was thinking….

Wouldn’t it be cool to have like a whole page of like a fan photo quilt of you guys holding up a piece of paper saying:

Biggest Fan Project @ [City, State/Country] along with holding up your tickets??
